Healthcare
Impirica’s tools help health care providers make decisions about their patient’s ability to drive safely. The tools include an in-office cognitive test (DCAT) and a specialized on-road evaluation (DORE). Both work in tandem to offer objective evidence to predict at-risk drivers.
Impirica’s tools can be used by:
- Psychotherapists
- Occupational Therapists
- Speech Language Pathologists
- Physical Therapists
- Family Physicians
- Neurologists
- Neuropsychologists
- Neurobehavioral Consultants

The DriveABLE Advantage
The DCAT and DORE were scientifically developed to screen for cognitive impairment as it relates to real-world driving. These tools are age normed and empower decision makers to make timely, objective and fair decisions about a patient’s driving risk.
The DCAT is fully reimbursable in the USA by most healthcare providers. View the CPT Code Guide for details.
When to Assess
Your patient should be assessed when one or more of the following situations have occurred.
- The patient, or their friends and family, have expressed concerns about their driving ability.
- They have been in a serious car accident, or many minor car accidents.
- They have had many "close calls" while driving.
- They have had a change in medication.
- They have been diagnosed with a new medical condition, or there has been a change in their existing medical conditions.
- Their license has been suspended due to a medical condition.
How it Works
- Healthcare professional identifies the need to test their patient
- Healthcare professional refers the patient for a DriveABLE assessment
- Patient is scheduled for a DriveABLE assessment at a licensed site
- Trained DriveABLE assessor assesses the patient using the DCAT (and additionally if licensed, the DORE)
- DriveABLE software scores the assessment and instantly produces a report
- Healthcare professional receives a copy of the report
- Healthcare professional uses the report to make an informed decision
- Healthcare professional meets with the patient to share the results and decision
